Pantheon Rome: frequently asked questions

Is the Pantheon free?

Yes for children and teenagers under 18, for residents of Rome, on the first Sunday of every month and on 4 November 2026. Everyone else needs a ticket. Visitors from the EU aged 18 to 25 get a reduced ticket.

Do I need to show an ID?

Yes. The ticket carries a name, and at the entrance you show an ID. If the name does not match, you may not be let in, and the ticket is not refunded.

Can I skip the queue at the Pantheon?

No. Everyone enters in order of arrival, and there is no separate fast lane. Booking ahead means you do not have to buy the ticket at the desk.

What should I wear?

The Pantheon is a church: cover your shoulders, and avoid shorts or skirts that are too short, low necklines and see-through clothes. Staff can refuse entry to anyone who does not follow the rules.

Can I bring food, drinks or a big bag?

You cannot eat, drink or smoke inside. There is no cloakroom, so travel light.
